How can I become the best fighter I can be?
I’m a black belt in TKD, have been taught boxing and am about to learn Judo in a few weeks.
I workout 6 days a week (http://fitness.scoobysworkshop.com/schedintermediate.htm)
I’m 14 years old, weigh 50kg and have a height of around 170cm.
I have a Muay thai style heavy bag (150lbs) and just use wraps, as I want to practise my grappling, take downs etc.
I want to learn a large variety of martial arts, to make me more of a “complete fighter”
As you can see I have good stand up, so I’m trying to focus on learning more ground fighting.
I am mainly interested in learning: take downs, leg sweeps, close combat and wrestling.
What are some other ways I can become the best fighter I can be?
it would help to stop revamping the same questions every other day, get to your dojo/dojang, and practice. You keeping talking and talking about the same thing and yet, you still haven’t gone to that Judo school yet.
You could spend an infinite amount of time THINKING about how to get better. But at this point in your life and in your martial arts career, you should just focus on doing. If you’re spending more time contemplating and discussing Judo than practicing it, there’s a problem.
Also, don’t be so complacent. Just because you got your blackbelt in TKD doesn’t mean that you have good standup. Blackbelt is only the beginning of your learning. Never settle for your current level of skill; always strive to surpass it.
Now get your butt off the computer and into the dojo. Also, before the age of 16-17, it’s not good to lift weights. Supposedly it stunts your growth. Make cardio your priority at the gym and try to focus mostly on self-weighted excercises.
