Workout CrossFit? Maybe Not!
I would never let my athletes do crossfit!
Why not?
Simple! The workout design, like what kind of exercises as well as in which order, is frequently faulty, to the point where there‘s a unreasonable and unnecessary injury risk.
The basic concept in Crossfit is rather right and sound:
A high intensity interval set-up works well for weight reduction.
However you want to use safe and effective exercises for this, NOT a Power Snatch for friggin’ 100!
That’s simply looking for injury. There’s a excellent reason why the really knowledgeable lifters -Olympic Weight Lifters- who have been engaging in this for centuries, Never ever go above 6 repetitions on explosive lifts.
In these long sets, power isn’t trained –you in fact train to be slow– and you’ll potentially hurt the lower back, the shoulder as well as the knee.
So in other words if you are using more secure exercise routines which can be as effective or even far better, along with a correct work out design, this sort of training can be extremely good.
I personally know quite a few sportsmen that got seriously injured performing Crossfit, and reportedly there’s some legal cases outstanding at this moment due to this.
Especially for athletes Crossfit is something I’d need to totally recommend against!
For fitness enthusiasts however -using the less hazardous exercises- it’s maybe fine.

P.S.
You can see Árni Ísaksson do it right here on my Blog:
Why not simply do some strongman stuff, circuits and intervals, like Árni?
They’re even better yet at fat burning and, with correct know-how and application are really very safe.
Cross Fit and Why I Don‘t Like It, Part II
By Mark
Recently I‘ve voiced my thoughts about Cross Fit, precisely why I simply cannot advise it for athletes, and why I would caution civilians too.
Many of the crossfit trainers/schools had not been happy with this; I wonder why?
So today I would like to go right into somewhat more depth on what precisely it is I take concern with as well as why, aiming to give a truthful and balanced point of view.
BTW: individuals that made fools out of themselves by getting in touch with menn.is and insisting the content be taken off, I’ve got this to state:
„Free Nation, Free Media, Freedom of Viewpoint? Excuse me? Thank you very much.”
Crossfit is a phenomenon, it‘s immense, and continues to grow.
That for a excellent legitimate reason: it works.
I‘ve said it before, and I‘ll say it once more: the essential concept of crossfit is fine, I actually LIKE the principle and use it personally.
The High Lactate set up is fantastic for weight reduction and a good – if general-fitness condition.
And that ties right in to #1 …
1.Why Cross fit isn’t for sports men/players:
It‘s far too general to be valuable for professional sports, you won’t improve sports performance by any kind of great margin: it‘s simply not exact enough.
That ought to be understood by athletes. And then there‘s the needless personal injury hazard …
2. Whenever you perform what is in essence High Intensity Interval Training using resistance implements (weights and such), you should employ the suitable tools and exercises for the objective.
This sort of exercising results in intense fatigue, high lactic acid levels, and therefore faintness, cloudy vision and nausea may, and in most cases do, result.
Some exercises, just like Power Clean, Power Snatch and Front Squat are difficult to do right and so are injury prone at the best of times.
Try them in those training conditions and you‘re simply just asking for personal injury.
Why don’t you utilize routines that are totally free from danger for the intent?
And which are as effective or better still?
For instance Sled/Prowler work, Medicine Balls, Sandbags and Body Weight stuff such as Burpees for example.
In English:
As long as you‘re clear that crossfit will not make you a better soccer or handball player, and provided that you apply the correct exercise selection and order –with a pro work out design– I‘m all for it.
Workout CrossFit? Depends …
It is going to get you into a sound condition and burn fat effectively.
Simply just be careful and do it right.
Fair enough?
