Antique device called photo-copying machine what did it do probably from 30′s or 40′s?
I came accross a device in an antique store that looks like a long rectangular box with a plug that lights a light bulb inside the container, and there are two vinyl like coverings on the box one is see through and form fitted as a curve, then there is the other that covers that one. It looks like maybe you put a document on the top of a piece of photographic paper and plugged it in to make a reflective copy. Very basic looked like it might have had chemicals spilled on it so it definitely must have used a photo paper. I am amazed by it and would like to know more about this device…wooden box brass trademark plate and electric plug wrapped in fabric makes me guess it was 1930 or 1940 era?
Sounds more like a print dryer to me. Curved metal with fabiric cover. YOu put wet photos on it and plug it in to dry them. Chemical stains indicate prints weren’t very well washed.
Does it look like this except older?

If so then definilty an old print dryer. When people used fiber based photo papaer rather than RC paper they would use a dryer like this as fiber based paper curls badly when dried.
