Why don’t we see a lot of shuto strikes in sparring?
They emphasize it in self defense why not sparring?
Correctly done a Shuto strike is done to very serious targets, which are not valid in sport martial arts or sparring situations. Doing a Shuto in sparring would be like shooting a black at an attacker and yelling bang. It would serve no purpose.
