Punching Pad
Does smashing pads on your abs make them stronger or just get used to the pain?

When you hit your abs with pads, medicine ball, someone punching, etc. Does that make your abs toughen up and get stronger? or does it only get you used to getting hit? used to the pain? Is it bad for your internal organs to train your abs like that in the long run? or your abs will just get stronger?

It teaches you how to flex your core as a strike impacts. The muscles are worked just from flexing during the tightening and loosening and you’d get the same strength/conditioning training by doing pilates. But, it’s the sensitivity training to feeling and recognizing an impact and tightening your core in response to that impact that is useful from this training technique.

It would be bad for the organs if you trained using something too heavy and too hard, say a bowling ball or cannon ball.

There are myths that this method of training destroys fat cells in order to achieve a six-pack abs look. It’s not true or you’d see a lot more cases of cellulitis (subcutaneous tissue infections) from people using this method. If fat cells were destroyed in any significant numbers they would rot and cause infection.
