Punchbag Black
I want to do boxing at home over summer, where to start?

I have a friend who has a black belt in kickboxing, and he said he will teach me the basics, which is all i want to know for now. What equipment do i need, i.e. punchbag? Is there any cheap places?

Thank you!

I wouldnt recommend that you buy a punch bag.. you might not like the sport, and good bags can be expensive.

If your friend is a blackbelt kickboxer, he will have a punching bag, or atleast a facility that holds one.

Ask him what his plans are, and where you will be training.

You will want to get yourself some wraps, and a pair of decent gloves.

Ask your friend what he recommends for your weight/size, if the lad is a blackbelt then it will be much easiser for him to advise you, as he will know you.

Other then wraps and gloves, ensure you have a mouth guard (if you intend to spar during summer)

Also, picking up a cheap pair of skipping ropes would be benefitial, although, its not essential as your friend, or the gym you might be starting at will more than likely have these extra peices of equipment for you.

Wraps, Mouth Guard, Gloves.

If you feel is essential to buy things, (if you live in the uk) Argos normally have a nice selection of boxing equipment in, for cheap, :D good for us poor guyz, if you live out of UK, look for other cheap suppliers in your area.

Good Luck
Joe
