Can you do strenuous exercise before you know you’re pregnant?
I’m a pretty active person, but since being married my husband and I sometimes fore-go protection (we’re not quite ready to completely try but we also want to see what happens if that makes sense). I usually do some pretty jarring exercises involving plyometrics (a lot of hopping around) with no break for 30-60 minutes depending on the day, at home hip-hop dance videos, and at home kickboxing videos.
Is it okay to do jarring exercises before you know you’re pregnant? Can it affect implantation during the two week wait? Thank you!
As a general rule, if you have already been doing strenuous exercise regularly (for 3 months or more) before becoming pregnant, you can continue. The important thing is to keep your body temperature below 100 degrees, so make sure to take breaks and drink a lot of water. Also, there is nothing you can physically do to interrupt implantation — embryos are tough little creatures who can grab on in any conditions. Good luck!
