Is the standard disc drive on the Macbook Pro a double-layer DVD burner or single?

I’m not sure if this is exactly what you’re asking, but if you want to know if the computer sitting in front of you has a dual-layer burner, click on the apple at the top left of your screen and select About this Mac. On the pop-up window, select More Info. On the next screen, select Disc Burning from the hardware menu. You’ll see a list of the types of CD/DVD media your drive will accept. If you see -R DL and/or +R DL, it is a dual-layer burner.
