Heat or ice to help the pain?
I have pain in my calf muscles more specifically where the bulge is and into the back of my knee. I have had it for two days ever since I had my 2nd session of Pt for my knee. Should I use ice or heat to help the pain? Thanks!
If you are getting PT for an injury to the knee the the muscles/tendons of the Gastrocnemius are probably contracted and perhaps have some atrophy. Given the knee injury, follow what ever regiment (heat, ice, or both) you are using for your knee. Being consistent is the best course of action and you will never solve the argument of Ice/Heat for injury rehab.
