What is that takedown they always use in MMA, specifically the UFC?
I want to know what is the name of the takedown and what are the specifics of it, it is often used in the UFC. Where the person grabs him and slams him down. Usually carrying him off the ground for a while and then slamming him, used by ground and pound type guys like matt hughes/tito ortiz. Is it just a fancy double leg or something more? One specific instance I remember is where Matt Hughes got kicked in the balls and he carried the guy all the way to the other side of the octagon and slammed him, what type of slam was that?
It is just your straight forward double leg – the difference being how yo decide to throw the bloke down!
Shoot in – by dropping to one knee – normally the knee closes to the opponent – and with both hands – grab behind the knees.
Bring the trailing leg forward to a position behind you opponent- then stand up – the opponent is now resting with his solar plexus on your shoulder and his legs trapped behind your hands
The choice is yours now where to Plant him – on his head – on his back – you can also do this whilst at the sametime passing the guard or not – again its your choice and the possiblities are numerous
