Mma Angled
Am I the only one who believes Pac can give most MMA fighters a run for their money even if they go to ground?

I know we never seen Manny fight on the ground and do submission holds. However, I believe he has the ability to learn submission holds, kicks, and bjj. Because he is a relentless non-stop fighter who is flexible and fight at odd angles. So I believe he can give a lightweight MMA guy a run for his money.

If Pacquiao was given the time and opportunity to train and get prepared for MMA, I have no doubt that he would do well. There are many boxers who could do very well, not just Pacquiao.

Some strikers have already made amazing MMA careers, most notorious of which was Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic (whose basic discipline was also boxing). He made the transition from K-1 and back in his prime, when competing in PRIDE, he became the most feared fighter in MMA history. Things he did to people and the knock outs he delivered were unreal. Take a look at some of this footage and see for your self if you don’t believe me:

So it CAN BE DONE. Boxers can succeed and do great in MMA, but it’s important and also very difficult to make that transition properly.

You are a boxing fan and I’ve seen in your previous posts how much you hate MMA and write things to belittle this sport and prove boxing’s superiority. But the truth is that what you claim is wrong.

I am a hardcore boxing fan just like you (you can see that from my previous posts). It is by a long way my favorite sport and always has been. But I am also a fan of MMA and I can tell you for a fact that it is the MOST COMPLEX fighting system in the world. I say again – this is not an opinion, this is a fact and you should take it as such. Boxing is the “sweet science”, it’s the sport that we know and love, but, in it’s essence, it’s A MARTIAL ART just like all others and being a great boxer alone in modern MMA simply isn’t enough.

Over the past couple of years this sport has evolved to a new level, training methods have become more advanced and new fighters have emerged. Nowadays any respectful MMA fighter regularly trains in 4 elementary disciplines: boxing, kickboxing/muay thai, BJJ and wrestling. If you can do something else along side this, like judo or karate or whatever, it comes as a bonus when you fight, but any elite MMA fighter HAS GOT to master the techniques of these 4 basic disciplines. Today each of them is absolutely necessary to compete at the highest level, not just one.

So, Manny Pacquiao and other great boxers COULD indeed become great MMA fighters also, but they would have to adapt, embrace the full training methods and principals of modern MMA, learn new techniques and advance their own fighting style. If Pacquiao could obtain some ground skills, learn some wrestling and master takedown and submission defense at least, I have no doubt he would become a great MMA fighter too. But at this moment, with boxing alone, he wouldn’t stand a chance.

That’s about all I have to say. My only suggestion to you in the end is to open your mind about this. Try to look at MMA as a sport and learn a little more about it’s concepts and you may even like it one day. These comparisons boxing vs MMA are stupid. They have no merit. These are two different sports and if you are a fan of one, there is no rule that says you automatically have to hate the other.

I would just like to point out one more misconception before posting. STREET FIGHTING PROWESS IS BULLS***. Street fighting in no way prepares you for boxing or MMA. It just makes you a thug. That’s important to know.
