Will wearing a leather bracelet stop static shock?
I absolutely hate having the problem of static shock in the winter when touching door knobs or getting out of the car. I know that having leather soles on shoes rather than rubber (and cotton clothing, etc.) dispels static shock but how about wearing a leather bracelet?
The leather soles prevent the buildup of static as you walk, but wearing leather other places won’t prevent static build up or dissipate it. Try the anti-static spray for your clothes (you can find it by laundry supplies), or use good fabric softener. Touch metal on your the door or door frame as you slide out of a car. This will dissipate the static as you create it by sliding. As you walk on carpet, try not to scuffle your feet as much as possible, lift your foot and put it down without sliding, and this will also prevent buildup.
