Best MMA Gloves
Choosing the best MMA gloves is essential if you are getting into this awesome combat sport.
Inevitably there are frequent injuries in competition fights and so having adequate protection from a decent pair of MMA gloves is essential. You can buy MMA gloves online but you may want to go to a store and try them on to make sure they are comfortable.
You mustn’t cut corners or scrimp when it comes to combat gear but there are places to buy cheap MMA gloves and it’s worth looking around for the best deal.
Personally I do a lot of grappling so having the right gloves is essential. If you do a lot of sparring a different style of glove is right.
I also train in aikido and so I am not always allowed the luxury of hand protection! It’s worth getting your hands toughened up but I don’t advise punishing training methods like punching into barrels of sand!
MMA is an incredible sport to get into but as with anything you have to have the right equipment and I adivse a visit to my site to read further advise and reviews
I also suggest talking to other fighters to get their experience of choosing gloves and gear for MMA.
I began my MMA training in England some 5 years ago and have had several injuries over that time. Your hands are your key fighting tool as an MMA fighter and having the right hand protection is of course essential. Had I known this when I started I would have had a lot less pain!
When you get to competition level you must comply with the rules of your organisation and these usually include rules around the gloves you can wear. I advise getting used to training wearing these before any fight so you are used to them. Don’t waste your time trying to change the rules or worse still break them! There is of course some politics in MMA as there is in any sport but generally the rules are there for the safety of the fighers and that includes you.
MMA gloves for bag work in training vary in that they have more padding and these aren’t suitable for fighting or sparring. You will have real difficulty grappling in them as they are not designed for this. I personally have three different types of gloves to cater for the different uses. This is another good reason it’s essential to find the cheapest gloves as it can become an expensive part of your MMA gear!
Broken fingers are one of the worst and most painful injuries I’ve ever had
I still train in other martial arts but MMA has an incredible buzz for me and I guess is the closest thing we get to a real street fight. Most other marital arts just don’t train in this way. Endlessly hitting a punch bag just doesn’t excite me! I hope to be taking part in the sport for many years to come hence the reason I focus on having the right safety gear. As well as protecting yourself you owe this to other fighters out of respect – the wrong gloves can cause serious injury to an opponent!
