What Boxing Gloves And Other Stuff Should I Get?
Hi, Im gonna start boxing down my local club. I am 13 and have never boxed before. I would like a nice good quality pair of gloves. So please suggest a pair. Also what other stuff do I need, like a mouthguard etc. I have a punch bag. I AM FROM THE UK SO UK SITE SUGGESTIONS ONLY PLEASE! Thanks!
180 inch wraps and 14-16 oz Training Gloves to start. I don’t know if you are going to start sparing right away. You might take a few weeks or so to just get in boxing shape. When you start sparing you’ll need a mouth guard, headgear, and foul protection. You can get all this stuff online. Most stores don’t really sell good boxing gear, well at least they dont in the US. The hand wraps they sell are usually small and the gloves suck. Ringside and Title Boxing (US) have a lot of stuff to chose from. Ringside have links to other boxing sites, some are internaitional and might be better for you. You can go online and request free catalogs too.
The gym I go to has mats all over so I cant wear regular shoes on them. I either workout in my socks/bare foot or in my boxing shoes. Its easier to pivot in my shoes and doesn’t twist my toes as much. They have shoes on the sites too. Boxing and wrestling shoes work the same.
As far as brands, its all personal preference.
