Should I use bag gloves or training gloves for focus mitts?
I’ve been boxing for about 6 months with the cheap everlast bag gloves, and two months ago I finally got a second pair of gloves, title gel training gloves, which are great. Although I know that you shouldn’t use training gloves on the heavy bag, which can harden and even crack the training gloves, I was wondering if it mattered when you’re just hitting the pads/focus mitts, will it wear down the training gloves too, so that I should just use bag gloves?
You need 2 pairs of gloves. 1 for bags & mit work & the 2nd for sparring. Bag gloves should be smaller then your sparring gloves, a pair that fit right so that you don’t injure your hands. They don’t need as much padding because you are hitting padded bags not someones chin or head.
Sparring gloves need to be a little bigger so that you don’t hurt your hands or sparring partners. Fighters-inc.com have these Top-Ten gloves that are really good and not to expensive.
