I have a semi-deep cut on my finger???
Well Sunday morning I was cutting a loaf of bread, and the knife I was using was really sharp, and I accidently cut through the bread too quickly and cut my finger. It was bleeding, so I just went and got a bandaid for it. But I looked at it later and decided it might have needed stitched, but, of course, by then there would be nothing I could do about it. So here’s my problem. I feel like I need to keep a band aid on it at least during the day to keep it from getting dirt in it and stuff(plus it doesnt look too pretty when I’m doing stuff in the kitchen), but I think you’re supposed to keep it open so it can ‘breathe’ and heal better. So what should I do? I usually keep a bandaid on it during the day and leave it open at night. Also is there something I can put on it to help it heal?? I was thinking vitamin e, but I just don’t really know. Any suggestions??
Ouch!! Done that a dozen times!!! I’m a waitress where we cut our own bread for the table.
What I usually do is keep it super clean, cleaning it daily by washing your hands normally with soap and water, making sure the water runs over your cut, at least twice a day. Then, use hydrogen peroxide to sterilize the wound. I usually keep mine covered until it doesn’t really hurt anymore, then you can let it dry out a bit. Happy healing!!
