Best type of shin gaurd for Muay Thai??
I have looked in my area at all the sporting goods stores, and noone carries them…. So without being able to try them on… I am looking for light weight (I want to feel shin on shin contact.. so no “pillows” ) and secure… I have, what I consider to be small calves, and the ones at my school twist, and cause more of a distraction than a benefit… I have looked them up on line and found the prices to be very reasonable, so I am not overly concerned with the price…. I dont want something real bulky and stiff….. (The pair of Fairtex at my school is uncomfortable)… Really I want something that I will hardley notice is there…. Please MT guys, if you know of a certain brand and type please help me out
i have a pair of century shin instep armor. i got them because they looked cool.lol. but they are more like the tkd cloth shin pads, they add some protection(not as well as thai shin pads) but they are unnoticeable and doesn’t restrict your movement. however century isnt really known for great products but for me it gets the job done.

of course my coach recommends actual thai shin pads. you can also look into windy shin pads. windy and fairtex are some of the leading brands for thai boxing, but if you dont like fairtex you might not like windy either. most thai shin guards seem “bulky” to me i guess those devastating thai roundhouses need extra protection
