Why weren’t the European election votes counted at the same time as the council votes?
As above really. Why do we have to wait till sunday- why were they not counted the following night/day, like every other election?
At our polling station the european and council ballot papers were both put in the same box. Surely once box is opened all papers should be counted…?
The EU wanted all member countries to have voted before the results are announced.
Germany don’t vote until Sunday so we will have to wait until then. The Netherlands have released their exit polls, but these are not actual results and are not always accurate (remember the general election of 1992 when the exit polls said Labour would win but the Conservative were returned to power with a small majority).
