Punching Bag Stand – Why Every Punching Bag Workout Should Have One!

A punching bag stand is an essential purchase for anyone wishing to ‘boxercise’ safely at home. Whilst a growing number of individuals are turning to a punching bag workout as a means of keeping fit, not all are as keen to embrace the boxing gym environment. Most opt instead to exercise at home. This not only provides the convenience to workout, as and when you wish, but also avoids those awkward feelings of inadequacy you can sometimes experience as a novice. Unfortunately, not everyone realises the potential dangers of punching bags, if not used or secured correctly. This can often result in personal injury or damage to furniture and fixings.

Once you have decided that a home boxing workout is right for you, you need to carefully consider where you are going to site your equipment. Ideally, it would be better to locate your training area in an outside building or garage. Failing this, you may have an outdoor yard where you can position a training station. However, if you do opt for the latter then you should ensure that you also purchase suitable protective covers to guard the equipment from the elements. You must also clean the equipment regularly to remove any moisture and slow down any build up of rust.

If you do ultimately decide that you want to site the equipment indoors, or have no suitable alternative location, then you should not under estimate the amount of space that will be required for you to workout safely. It would be prudent to calculate the total floor area required before positioning your equipment. You must remember that the punch bags are going to swing when kicked or punched and you must take the full range of movement into consideration. Additionally, you should give careful thought to the noise levels that a punching bag workout is likely to produce. Complaints from your neighbors should be avoided at all costs!

Before committing to purchasing your boxing bag stand, you should be in absolutely no doubt that it is appropriate for both the weight and shape of your chosen punching bag. You also need to determine how and where you are going to safely secure this heavy platform.

If you are a tenant then you may not have the ability to drill into walls or ceilings. If this is the case, then you should consider free standing boxing platforms which do not require any permanent fixing. These stands have weight pegs built in to them and this provides the necessary stability,
