Why did Joe Calzaghe take another fight against someone so clearly to old?
I was a fan of Calzaghe in a way until Hopkins.Again he is fighting an older version of the roy jones i remember and looks like he gets fights against those who make him look better than he actually is,like Hopkins almost 44 and holding a lot,the human punchbag jeff lacy and the hapless peter manfredo.He also always has that silly grin on his face whilst enjoying being the tormentor against jones who after round 1 was never going to win,reminded me of lacy in 2006,a disgrace to watch,like it was a race issue with the black man getting beaten with only one eye to use.i live in the uk and have only just seen it,why are mismatches allowed to go on like this and not be stopped?
Doesn’t matter what argument you put forward regarding Calzaghe fighting past prime boxers or useless ones like Lacy and Manfredo,the Calzaghe nuthuggers wont have it.I live in Britain and saw the Jonathon Ross interview were he was clueless to have an answer to people who question the Calzaghe’legend’because of his poor record of opponents.I was never a fan of calzaghe because I saw him beat against Robin Reid in Newcastle and jeered out,I saw him win narrow victory over Chris Eubank over the hill by 3 years at least.Also I do not remember Calzaghe camp spouting off re Roy Jones untill he moved up to light heavyweight and Calzaghe ran amock in a micky mouse division for 10 freaking years,cant stand the guy and Im British.Oh,and whilst he’s at it tell him to get a bit of charisma he’s also a bore to listen to!
